'Whites want SWC to flop'

Beijing - Some white South Africans would like to see the 2010 Soccer World Cup flop, says Essop Pahad, Minister in the Presidency.

Pahad is a member of the country's 2010 Local Organising Committee.

"Although they may be in the minority, there are still many white people in South Africa who do not support Bafana Bafana.

"They also do not really care that the Soccer World Cup will take place in South Africa.

"All you have to do is to read their sentiments about it on websites," Pahad said.

He conceded that the majority of whites support the democratic processes in South Africa.

Pahad said the tournament should be used for nation building.

"My task is to ensure that the South African public buys into the idea that the World Cup belongs to all South Africans," he said.

Did minister Pahad have research done re his vague allegations about anti-democratic whites?
After 2009 will Pahad still retain his position in cabinet and the Presidents office?
Or is he just grasping at the same straws, as he so often did when he made allegeations that, as a youth he was not allowed to cross Park Drive between Mayfair and Fordsburg, for fear of being attacked by the whites?

Is this racial hate speech, or is he just another racist?
